Red Velvet Trifle is a luxurious dessert with a rich flavor and creamy texture, making it perfect for special occasions or family gatherings. This recipe combines velvety red velvet cake with smooth cream and a touch of chocolate or fruit for an extra special touch.
● Ingredients
◇ For the Cake
- 1 ½ cups sugar
- ½ cup soft butter
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon white vinegar
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup yogurt
- 1 teaspoon red food coloring (liquid or powder)

- 300 ml heavy cream
- ¼ cup powdered sugar
- 250 g cream cheese
- For Garnishing
- Shredded chocolate or fresh strawberries (as desired)
● Preparation
1. Preparing the Cake
- Preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F).
- In a bowl, beat the sugar and butter until the mixture is creamy.
- Add the eggs, vanilla extract, and white vinegar, then mix well.
- In another bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, and baking powder.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the yogurt, and mix until well combined.
- Add the red food coloring and mix until fully blended.
- Pour the batter into a greased baking pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, then let it cool completely.
2. Preparing the Cream
- Whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar until thick.
- Add the cream cheese and mix well until smooth and creamy.
3. Assembling the Trifle
- Cut the red velvet cake into small cubes.
- Place a layer of cake cubes in serving glasses or a large glass bowl.
- Add a layer of cream, then another layer of cake, and repeat until the cups are full.
- Garnish the top with shredded chocolate or fresh strawberries as desired.
4. Chilling and Serving
- Refrigerate the trifle for at least two hours to allow the flavors to meld and the texture to set.
